Eligibility for Services
To be eligible for accommodations from Disability Services, you must be a St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) student and have a recognized disability under The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Verification of your disability must be completed by appropriate professionals for the disability prior to receiving services from Disability Services and must follow established Documentation Guidelines.
The process of establishing your eligibility for accommodations through Disability Services is unrelated to SCTCC’s admissions process. Students with disabilities are evaluated for admission to SCTCC based on the same criteria of all applicants to the college and for the individual programs of study. Disability status is not taken into consideration for admission and you are not required to disclose your disability. Any documentation for your disability should be sent directly to Disability Services.
Requesting ACCUPLACER Accommodations
The ACCUPLACER is designed to measure your reading and mathematical skills and compare your readiness in those academic areas to the skills required in college courses. If your skills are not at the college level, you must start with a preparatory course designed to build your skills and help assure your success in college-level curriculum.
Some students with documented disabilities qualify for accommodations on the ACCUPLACER. If you would like to request accommodations, begin with Step 2.
Disability Services at SCTCC is not obligated to provide accommodations for students requesting to take the ACCUPLACER examination for another college/institution.
