Welcome to the Veterans' Resource Center

New community vets center to be named Homefront Resource Center

    June 3, 2015

The new veterans' center at the St. Cloud Technical & Community College will be called the Homefront Resource Center.

The St. Cloud Times and a steering committee that includes the college collaborated to allow Times readers to vote on 10 names for the new center. Voting was conducted through the Times' website.

The overwhelming winner was Homefront Resource Center, which had 156 votes. The next closest name was Yellow Ribbon Resource Center, which got 74 votes.

The other eight names under consideration each got 23 votes or fewer.

The college accepted nominations for potential names in May and narrowed a list of 43 to 10. Voting on those 10 names has been ongoing for the last few weeks.

The new veterans' center will be in the former CentraCare Heartland building.
