The Greater St. Cloud Development Corporation, Initiative Foundation, and St. Cloud Technical & Community College are co-hosting a book-signing event for local author, Hudda Ibrahim, at the SCTCC Library in the Heartland Building, 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12. In her recently published book, From Somalia to Snow: How Central Minnesota Became Home to Somalis, Ibrahim shares the immigration narrative of Somali Americans and explains why nearly 20 percent have chosen to settle in Minnesota.
From Somalia to Snow gives readers an invaluable insider’s look into the lives and culture of our Somali neighbors and the important challenges they face. Designed with a diverse audience in mind, this book is a must-read for students, healthcare professionals, business owners, social service agencies and anyone who wants to better understand the Somali people in Minnesota.
Purchase the book in advance at huddaibrahim.com or for $22 at the July 12 book-signing event. The event is open to the public and free of charge, but registration is needed.
